Well, I wanted to try Karpata again! So we headed north and checked out the site. The waves had to be 3-4 feet tall and crashing against hard rocks -- daunting to say the least. Still, I decided I'd do a partial check of surge and wave energy and see how difficult the entry would be, before Beth and I committed ourselves. Unfortunately, the surf was too rough, the rocks too hard, and the conditions just too challenging to dive -- all it took was losing my regulator and a good crash against the rocks and I knew when I was licked!

We headed south and tried out Andrea I. The Andrea dive site has two locations, I and II. We decided site "I" would be the easier entry... we'd grown pretty tired of those heavy surf and rock exits! I appreciate the "no gloves" rule in Bonaire, but despite picking a mild location, the entrance and exit were brutal. I skipped the gloves and scraped the hell out of my hands, my camera, my knees and side. Ugh. But it still was better and safer than Karpata!

Once under, it was a great dive -- big Spotted Drum, Parrotfish with riding Trumpetfish. Neat! Check out my picture of the Yellowhead Wrasse - I'm getting better with this camera! :)
