Our next dive, our first boat dive, was scheduled for 2 PM. Unlike previous boat dives, this one had nice calm waves, and was a short ride over to Klein Bonaire. A great harbinger of cool dives to come! From my log book:
About 7 shots and the N90 battery warning indicator came on. Weird
because usually I start getting slow shutter closure well before-hand. So I ended
my photography bit early and relaxed.
Both of us brought cameras on board - happily they had a large camera
rinse bucket.
Beth began to learn the joy of digital strobe placement 30 min east into the current, 15 min to return and scoped out 15 min at the
market point (signalling the way back to the boat). Puffers (actually
Porcupinefish), Filefish, Groupers, Lots more.
Saw a Shrimp and Threespot Damselfish fighting over (and trying to eat) a
tiny crab, but the Damselfish spooked when I came near - no crab legs for lunch
today!

Liked the fact we weren't shepherded - we were told a max depth &
time, and given the marker point to get out. Beth & I led awhile, then we
fell behind - it didn't matter. This started our Nitrox diving as well. Although our checkout dive, and a few
of our final dives, were on air, Toucan Divers had a small room full of Nitrox
tanks, and we could check one out for any boat or shore diving we were doing. It
was open 8-5, so with a little careful planning, certified- and paid-up Nitrox
divers could dive 32% on every dive. So we did!
