Eighteen Palms again? It was a long day, and already after 6 PM, but we still wanted to do another dive. Plus we saw so much amazing fish life this morning, we both wanted a chance for a repeat - with cameras!
Beth and I are still budding amateurs, and it takes us a couple of dives to get
our cameras working optimally. I had a setting wrong on my camera, and it wasn't
until about halfway through the dive that I realized I was chronically
under-exposing my shots. Beth's camera batteries died partway through the dive, as
she is also learning how often to swap out her rechargeables - after all, this was
her first dive trip with this camera. Tzimoulis we're not.
We saw a Peacock Flounder, 3-4 large Tarpons, Eels, Rock Beauties, Yellowtail Damselfish, and Beth saw and pointed out 3 Cuttlefish swimmming by! From my log book: A great dive, extremely relaxing (except while futzing with the camera!)
And after the dive, crowds were gathering on the beach. A giant projection
screen was set up for PRB's "Movie on the Beach" event - it looked like fun, but we
just wanted dinner and sleep. We ate at the Banana Tree restaurant, one of PRB's
onsite establishments. The food was good, service adequate, and we ate with relish.
