Eighteen Palms, Dive #15 - 10 June 2004

Talk about efficient divers! Two dives already under our belt today, and before 4 PM we were submerging on dive #3! We had a boat night dive scheduled for this evening, so we figured we'd make one last attempt to find the elusive Yellow Longlure Frogfish. To no avail, of course. From my logbook:

Nice dive. One last, fruitless search for the Frogfish. I searched most of the dive; Beth did some pic-hunting. I ran a U-pattern, 25 to 40 feet depths, no luck - even put down my camera [for about 30 minutes] in an open spot - boy, that sure improves my streamlining [and air consumption]! Took a smattering of pictures - [later realized I actually only took 2].

Beth's trip report is pretty funny - she was pretty concerned when she saw my camera rig sitting on the bottom without me. It's just not something I put down! But the bottom was calm and sandy, no current or waves, and it is certainly negatively buoyant!
