What a great dive!! Cliff is pretty much impossible to dive from shore, as it's the site of -- you guessed it -- a big cliff. Night dives are always full of amazing life, and the ease of a boat dive always makes it extra cool.
The on-air talent from Vizion TV, and her videographer, were videotaping again,
this time exposing their viewers to a night dive. They even interviewed me, asking
me what I thought of the night dive - that was different.
We saw two Frogfish, one green and one yellow, right next to each other on the same coral head! My picture shows the yellow one; the green one is off to the side but I couldn't get a shot without damaging the coral [which I will not do]. Freeswimming Eel, Pelagic Tunicates, Drum, and Urchins everywhere!
From my logbook: We went 31 min. North & then turned around, realizing we'd had a current with us! Hard swimming for 15 min. back to the boat - whew! Good thing too, cuz the 2 Froggies were right below the mooring!
And I didn't realize this, but the
Bonaire
Reefcam was just a short swim from the mooring point, in 10 feet of
water. If I'd known, I would have stopped by for a look-see! (The ReefCam was
moved two weeks later to a new site - see the page for details.)
