The last dive but a really great one! We really wanted to do Small Wall; our friend Dave Read said it was terrific, and it was every bit as wonderful as we had hoped. From my logbook:
Great dive, last at Bonaire. The "Small Wall" really is a short wall, depths 30-70 feet, which appears out of nowhere, then fades back into the usual sloping bottom.
Gave tips to Luis (DM) and Eddy (Cap'n and night-boat-dive DM), and Jorge (night DM).
Saw a Stingray on the deep flats. Also more tiny Puffers, 1 in each coral rod tree. A cool grotto about 60 feet under the small wall, a school of Cuttlefish swimming at 20 feet, and several egg sacs under a coral head. Beth found a tiny Drum & a huge blue Parrotfish at dive's end.
So that was it for the diving. We hung up our gear and thoroughly dried it out, packed up our cameras, our clothing and all our miscellaneous stuff. We went shopping out on the town, and enjoyed a long leisurely drive in search of Pink Flamingos for Beth.
We got an interesting phone call that night... but I'll discuss that in the next
and last frame.
